Day 1 – ARRIVAL TRANSFER (Distance : Approx. 5 Kms / 10 mins)
Arrive morning at Kigali International Airport and be met by your Driver Guide for a transfer to Lemigo Hotel for a good briefing of your Rwanda visits.
Day 1- AFTERNOON – KIGALI CITY TOURS
After Buffet lunch at a local Restaurant served with tasty delicious local cuisine you will drive into the City for some good tours. The very clean Kigali city tour will specially welcome you to this
“Land of a Thousand Hills”. Drive and start with the Kigali Genocide memorial Centre. This visit takes 2-3hrs. Its really sad to watch a short movie of
Rwandans talking about real experiences narrating how it all happened, the horrifying situations and trauma they found themselves into. Then go round the entire
Museum that displays photos of the aftermath and kind of weapons used at the time.
Form here get out into the City and see the beauty and the transformation and development that came right after! Thanks to the Rwandan President HE Paul Kagame.
Round the City visit the Caplaki Market for local curio items and have a chance to bargain on some take home gifts from Rwanda..then visit the Old and the new Kigali CBDs, the main streets and later back to Lemigo Hotel for overnight on Bed and breakfast basis...
Day 2 -VISIT THE 2 MEMORIAL CHURCHES of NYAMATA & NTARAMA and THE PRESIDENTIAL MUSEUM PALACE
Breakfast and have another full day in and around Kigali City. The 2 Genocide Memorial Churches are main points where people went to seek rescue from the
Genocidebut the unfortunate happened and were all killled in the Churches.
The Nyamata Genocide Memorial is based around a former church 30 km (19 mi) south of Kigali. The remains of 50,000 people are buried here.
Ntarama’s former Catholic church is close to Nyamata church and is now a memorial site. 5,000 people were massacred there.
Thereafter return back to the City with lunch en-route and passby the Presidential Memorial Palace and really get to know how the Genocide really all began on
7th April 1994. The Guide will take you round the Palace and explain how it all happened. The ill-fated Presidential flight that was brought down and fell right into
his own compound. Debris are all over the area. Thereafter back to Lemigo Hotel for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 3 -A VISIT TO LAKE MUHAZI & BACK TO KIGALI.
After breakfast leave the city again for a shorter day trip to Lake Muhazi out of the City, slightly more than 40 kilometres east of Kigali.
Lake Muhazi is a long thin shallow flooded valley in the east of Rwanda. Its 60 km long, in an east-west direction, but its width is less than 5 km.
Its located The bulk of the lake lies in the Eastern Province with numerous offshoots formerly the location of tributaries. The lake empties into the Nyabugogo River
which flows southwards to Kigali where it meets the Nyabarongo River, part of the the upper Nile.
You will have a relaxing time at the shores and perhaps take a boat ride if so wish (pay directly to the Boat Pilots) and thereafter enjoy Lunch at Jambo Beach, Muhazi.
A perfect place for a cold drink and a dish of fresh fish meal! Relax by the shores and thereafter drive back to Kigali Lemigo for overnight on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 4 – DEPARTURE
Breakfast the Hotel and thereaffer check out and be transferred back to Kigali Airport your departure flight
